Cryptopower is a self-custody wallet designed to minimize the data it collects. This page explains what happens with the little data we do process.

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This page is maintained by the Cryptopower project team and describes how the open-source wallet and this website handle information. It reflects the app's current, user-visible controls and is not a certification.

1. Overview

Cryptopower is a self-custody multi-coin wallet that runs entirely on your device. The project team does not operate servers that hold user funds, wallet files, seed phrases or private keys. Blockchain transactions themselves are public and recorded on distributed networks that we do not control.

2. No account, no KYC

Using Cryptopower does not require creating an account, providing an email address, or submitting identity documents. There is no login and no user profile stored on our side.

3. Data handled by the app

Everything you create in the wallet — seed phrases, private keys, addresses, contacts and transaction history — is stored locally, encrypted with your spending password on your device. The wallet needs to communicate with public blockchain networks to sync balances and broadcast transactions, which means:

  • Your device sends transaction data to public blockchain nodes. Anyone running such a node can observe network-level metadata like your IP address.
  • In SPV mode, block filters and headers are fetched from peers. In full-node mode, the entire chain is downloaded and stored locally.
  • You can route wallet traffic through Tor in Settings to hide your IP from remote peers.

4. Data handled by the website

When you visit this website, standard server logs may temporarily record your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. These logs are used only to operate the site, prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems. We do not build advertising profiles.

5. Third-party services

Cryptopower integrates with independent services that have their own privacy policies:

  • Public blockchain networks (Decred, Bitcoin, Litecoin).
  • DCRDEX servers you choose to connect to.
  • Voting Service Providers you select for DCR staking.
  • Optional block explorers used to open a transaction in your browser.

Please review the privacy terms of any third-party service you connect to.

6. Cookies & analytics

The Cryptopower wallet application does not use cookies or third-party analytics. The website uses only the strictly necessary cookies required to serve pages. If we ever add privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics we will disclose it here.

7. Children's privacy

Cryptopower is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Your rights

Because we do not maintain accounts or store personal data about you on our servers, most data-subject requests (access, correction, deletion) are handled directly on your device by managing your wallet files. For requests about website server logs, contact us using the details below.

9. Security

Wallet data is encrypted locally with your spending password. Keep your password strong and store your seed phrase offline. If you discover a security issue, please report it responsibly to security@cryptopower.net instead of opening a public issue.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the software evolves. Material changes will be announced on our website and in release notes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
