This page is maintained by the Cryptopower project team and describes the terms under which the open-source wallet software is provided. It is not legal advice — consult a qualified lawyer for questions about your specific situation.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing or using the Cryptopower wallet software ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
2. The software
Cryptopower is a free, open-source, self-custody multi-coin wallet distributed under the ISC License. It runs entirely on your device and does not require an account, sign-up or KYC. The project team does not operate custodial services or hold user funds.
3. Self-custody & your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the security of your seed phrase, private keys and spending password. Anyone who obtains your seed can take control of your funds.
- Back up your seed phrase offline and keep it safe.
- Choose a strong, unique spending password.
- The project team cannot recover lost passwords, seeds or private keys. Lost credentials mean lost funds.
- All transactions on public blockchains are final and irreversible.
4. License
The Software is licensed, not sold. Source code is released under the ISC License and available on our public repository. You may use, copy, modify and redistribute it in accordance with that license.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Software only for lawful purposes. You must not use Cryptopower to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Facilitate fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing or sanctions evasion.
- Attempt to compromise the security or integrity of any user, network or service.
6. Third-party services
Cryptopower connects to public blockchain networks and may interact with third-party services such as DCRDEX servers, Voting Service Providers, block explorers and translation services. These services are operated independently and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Disclaimers
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. You use the Software at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Cryptopower project, its contributors and maintainers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of funds, data, profits or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Software.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on our website and in release notes. Continued use of the Software after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
Because Cryptopower is a free, open-source project maintained by a distributed community of contributors, no single jurisdiction governs its use. Local laws applicable to you may nonetheless regulate your use of cryptocurrency wallets. It is your responsibility to comply with them.
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to legal@cryptopower.net or opened as a discussion on our public repository.
